Schembri Scores Second of the Season as Xavier Women's Soccer Plays Pitt to 1-1 Draw

Draw marks first result in program history against an ACC squad
CINCINNATI - Xavier women's soccer remained undefeated at home on Sunday, playing Pittsburgh to a 1-1 draw through double overtime. Freshman Sydney Schembri scored in the first half to give the Musketeers the lead going into the final 10 minutes before the Panthers scored the equalizer. Xavier moves to 2-1-1 overall and 2-0-1 at home with the result. Pittsburgh moved to 2-0-2 on the season.Â

34' | Xavier | After a Pitt foul, Carrie Lewis served the ball into box from the right side of the penalty box, finding Sydney Schembri in the six yard box. Schembri's header found the back of the net to put the Musketeers ahead, 1-0.
83' | Pitt | After a corner kick, Xavier goalkeeper Toni Bizzarro came out to save a shot from Pitt's Sarah Krause. The ball richocheted off the save, finding UP's Seyla Perez on the right side of the six-yard box. Perez scored on the open net to tie the game, 1-1.
