
Xavier Baseball to Play Fall Scrimmage Against Great Lake Canadians

CINCINNATI – Xavier baseball will host the Great Lake Canadians in its lone fall exhibition on Sunday, Oct. 1 at Hayden Field. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.

XU baseball is in the midst of fall practice after winning its second straight BIG EAST Championship in the spring. In 2017, the Musketeers posted 34 wins and reached an NCAA Tournament Regional Final for the second straight season.
Following the season, Xavier had a program record four players selected in the MLB First Year Player Draft. It was the second straight season XU had multiple players drafted.
The Musketeers will bring back 21 letterwinners in 2018, including six everyday starters and nine pitchers.
The Great Lake Canadians Baseball Club, based in southwestern Ontario, is a program designed to provide an elite level team with high level competition, led by current and former professional baseball players. Since it the GLC began, 11 of its players have earned scholarships from Division I baseball programs, 14 have gone on to represent their country as a member of Canada's national team, and six have been selected in the MLB Draft since 2015.
