CINCINNATI - The No. 8/8 Xavier Musketeers defeated the Marquette Golden Eagles, 89-70, on Wednesday nigh at Cintas Center. The Musketeers were led by Trevon Bluiett's milestone 2,000th career point as the senior finished with his 10th career double-double (13 points, 10 rebounds). The Musketeers used a balanced offense as five players scored in double figures.

FRIST HALF

The Musketeers opened the first half going on a 13-5 run led by Quentin Goodin's back-to-back threes.
The Musketeers never trailed in the first half with their largest lead coming with over one minute remaining when they led by 20 (51-31).
Xavier's bench shut out Marquette's bench 15-0 at the break.
Xavier shot an impressive 57 percent from the field and 54 percent from beyond the arc.
Quentin Goodin led the team with 13 points shooting 71 percent from the field (5-for-7) and going 3-for-3 from three-point range.
At the end of the half, all Musketeers contributed to a 51-33 lead over the Golden Eagles led by Quentin Goodin's 13 points and J.P. Macura's six rebounds.

SECOND HALF

Marquette used a 6-2 run to open the stanza, closing its deficit to 14 points (53-39). Xavier responded with a 20-8 run on 9-for-12 shooting to take its largest lead of the game, 73-47.
Xavier maintained its lead for the remainder of the game, moving its home record to 14-0.

NOTABLES

Trevon Bluiett scored his 2,000 point as a Musketeer finishing with 13 points, 10 rebounds and five assists - his 10th career double-double.
Xavier shot 35-for-63 from the floor (55.6 percent) and 12-for-18 from the line.
Kerem Kanter finished shooting 66 percent from the floor, recording 14 points.
Freshman Naji Marshall and Paul Scruggs both contributed 10 points for Xavier.
Quentin Goodin finished with a team-high 15 points on 6-for-11 shooting. He added five assists and three rebounds.
Xavier won the battle on the glass, 33-30. The Musketeers also held a 12-6 advantage in points off of turnovers and a 30-18 advantage in bench points.
