Swimming Travels To Wright State on Saturday

Events with Raiders begin at 11 AM
CINCINNATI – Xavier swimming return to action this weekend, traveling up the road to Dayton to face Wright State on Saturday morning at the WSU Natatorium. Events are set to begin at 11:00 a.m.

LAST SEASON AGAINST WSU |
- Last season the Musketeers hosted the Raiders for senior day. The men picked up the 131.5-127.5 win, while the women fell 144-117.
- The women picked up four event wins, including the 100 fly for Caroline Gaertner, the 200 back for Paxtyn Drew, and the 400 free relay for Emily Conners, Abigail Garner, Drew and Gaertner.
- The men won six events, including a pair for Matthew Dyer, who swept the breaststroke events. Alex Wolfred also won the 500 free and the men closed out the meet with a first place finish in the 400 free relay.

ABOUT WSU |
- Saturday's meet closes out the regular season for the Raiders, who will celebrate Senior Day.
- WSU was last in action against Cleveland State, IUPUI and Illinois Chicago at CSU on January 13th. Both the men's and women's teams were swept in the only meet since the semester break.
- On the women's side at CSU, the Raiders picked up first place finishes from Abby Saner (butterfly) on the women's side.
- On the men's side, the Raiders had seven first place finishes: Trevor Keriazes (100 breast), Mitchell Stover (100 and 200 fly),Dominic Poletta (50 and 100 free), Levente Sardi (200 breast), and the 200 medley relay team (Jack Fergus, Trevor Keriazes, Mitchell Stover, Dominic Poletta).
- Last season at the Horizon League Championships, Wright State's finished seventh of eight teams while the men finished fourth of seven.

WOMEN'S LAST TIME OUT |
- Xavier's women took second at the six team Butler Invite last Sunday, topping Youngstown State, SIU, Butler and Valpo while falling to Saint Louis.
- Xavier's women opened the meet by taking the top spot in the 200 medley, with Paxtyn Drew, Becca Titterton, Caroline Gaertner and Emily Conners setting a time of 1:47.65.
- Emma Kauffeld's time of 17:41.71 took second in the mile.
- Katie Kerr took first in the 500 free with a time of 5:07.73. Kerr also placed second in the 200 free with a time of 1:55.09. Emily Saugstad and Paxtyn Drew followed her in third and fourth, respectively.
- Caroline Gaertner took the top spot in two events, the 100 back and the 100 fly.
- Emily Conners took the top spot in the 50 free with a time of 24.15. Tianna Vozar placed second with a time of 24.66. Conners also took the top spot in the 100 free.
- Taylor Hogan took the top spot in the 200 back with a time of 2:04.74. Paxtyn Drew took second with a time of 2:06.62.
- Hogan also took the top spot in the 200 IM with a time of 2:09.82. Emily Saugstad took third with a time of 2:13.87 and Alison Herman placed fourth.

- Xavier's men finished in second place at the Butler Invite, topping SIU, Ball State and Valpo while falling to Saint Louis.
- Xavier's men opened the meet with Alex Sironen, Matthew Dyer, Brandon Abboud and Sam Johanns taking second in the 200 medley relay.
- Enrique Hernandez led four Musketeers in the top six of the 200 free, taking third. Alex Wolfred,
Jared Ritz and Chase Baldwin followed him in to round out the top six spots. - Sironen led the Musketeer in the 100 back in third place with a time of 52.04. Sam Johanns followed him in fourth.
- Landon Clark's time of 1:57.02 in the 200 fly placed third, leading three Musketeers in the top five.
- Brandon Abboud and Bradley Jackson followed him in fourth and fifth place, respectively.
- Hernandez also led the Musketeers in the 50 free with a time of 21.65 to place second.
- Johanns place third in the 100 free, followed by Hernandez and Robert Snader in fourth and fifth.
- Sironen took the top spot in the 200 back, placing first with a time of 1:53.86.
- Cameron Weese's time of 2:11.97 took second in the 200 breast.
- Alex Wolfred placed third in the 500 free with a time of 4:41.90. Matthew Dyer's also placed in the top six with a time of 4:47.77.
- Xavier closed the meet by taking the top spot in the 400 free relay with Johanns, Hernandez, Abboud and Wolfred finishing in 3:08:87.
