Women's Golf Bound for East Coast to Finish Out Fall Season

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - Xavier women's golf heads for the east coast this weekend to wrap up their fall schedule at the Palmetto Intercollegiate.

The Musketeers are fresh off their first win of the season at the MAC Fall Preview in Noblesville, Ind. last week. On their way to the tournament win, Xavier broke both 18-hole scoring records when they carded a 284 (-4) on Sunday and then broke the 54-hole coring record with their total of 883 (+19).

Xavier is also ranked number one in the BIG EAST after their performance last weekend, averaging a score of 296.58 per round over 12 rounds this fall. The women hold the lowest scoring round in the league this season with a 284 (-4) last weekend.

Xavier's lineup for their final fall tournament will consist of Mikayla Fitzpatrick, Lyndsey Hunnell, Mikayla Smith, Ke'Asha Phillips, and Morgan Tinsley.

After she claimed the tenth top-ten finish of her career by finishing third, Fitzpatrick will look to do the same this weekend. She is currently ranked number one in the BIG EAST individual rankings, averaging 72.33 per round over 12 rounds.

Hunnell finished last weekend in a tie for fourth individually and is now ranked fifth in the BIG EAST with an average of 73.78. She completed the MAC Fall Preview with a 219 (+3) and will look for a similar tournament finish this weekend.

Xavier's third top-ten golfer in the BIG EAST is Smith, who carded a 222 (+6) and finished eighth overall, will look to provide another great tournament. She is ranked ninth in the conference with an average of 74.92.

Phillips finished out last weekend in a tie for sixth and moved into the primary lineup for Xavier with her performance. She carded a 221 (+5) over the 54-hole outing at the MAC Fall Preview.

Tinsley is the fifth for Xavier in their last fall tournament, she finished last weekend in a tie for 31st. She is averaging 75.92 per round over 12 rounds, Tinsley sits 14th in the BIG EAST.
