
Women's Golf Wraps Up Palmetto Intercollegiate on Tuesday

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - Xavier women's golf posted its lowest team score of the Palmetto Intercollegiate, wrapping up day three with a 7-over 295 and finishing in 14th place overall on Tuesday at Turtle Point Golf Course.
Mikayla Smith fired a 4-over 76 to finish in a tie for 31st, leading Xavier with a 225 (+9) three day score.
Mikayla Fitzpatrick closed her tournament with a 1-over 73, moving up six spots to finish in a tie for 34th overall.Â
Lyndsey Hunnell also moved up six spots with an identical 1-over score from yesterday, tying Fitzpatrick for 34th with a 226 (+10) for the tournament. Hunnell's cumulative score of 1-under on par 3's was tied for fourth in the field. while her 42 pars ranked second overall.
Ke'Asha Phillips posted her best round of the weekend, carding a 73 (+1) to move up 12 spots and finish in a tie for 71st. Morgan Tinsley also improved for a third straight round, logging a 77 (+5) to move up two spots on the final day.
XU finished fifth in the field with 176 total pars.

Xavier had the eighth-best team score in the field on day three, finishing 7-over with a 295 to wind up in 14th position overall. The Musketeers wrapped up the tournament with a 911 team score (+47).
College of Charleston won the event with a 6-under tournament score over 858.

Xavier will have a few months off before its next competition, resuming the season in the spring at the Rio Verde Invitational from Feb. 22-24 in Rio Verde, Ariz.
