Women's Golf Wins Rio Verde Invitational with Three in Top Ten Individually

RIO VERDE, Ariz. -Â The Musketeers added another tournament win to their resume on Sunday evening, winning the Rio Verde Invitational with a total of 591 (+23).
XU entered the final 18 holes of the tournament in third place behind Arkansas State by two strokes and Boise State by one stroke. Xavier led the tournament in Par 4 scoring at 4.23 (+25) and was tied for second in total birdies with 22. Three Musketeers finished in the top ten overall, propelling them to the top spot on day two.
Mikayla Fitzpatrick and Lyndsey Hunnell both finished tied for fourth overall, each with a total of 146 (+4). Fitzpatrick shot even par (71) in the second round while Hunnell carded a one-over (72). Fitzpatrick and Hunnell both finished tied for second in birdies with seven and tied for fifth in Par 4 scoring at 4.09 (+2).Â
Mikayla Smith completed the tournament tied for eighth overall, only two strokes shy of Fitzpatrick and Hunnell with a 148 (+6). Smith shot even par on Par 3s over the tournament and carded 22 pars and four birdies.Â
Andie Shukow carded a 153 (+11) to finish tied for 34th. She recorded 22 pars and two birides through the weekend.
Amy Kucera tied for 39th overall, finishing with a total of 154 (+12). Kucera led XU with 23 pars for the tournament.
