Women's Swimming Hosts Indiana State on Friday Afternoon

First home meet of the season set to begin at 5:00 p.m.
CINCINNATI – Xavier women's swimming hosts its first home meet of the season, welcoming Indiana State to the O'Connor Sports Center on Friday, Oct. 26 at 5:00 p.m.

OPPONENTS - ISU |
- ISU is 4-0 on the season so far, picking up dual wins over UIC, Olivet Nazarene, Illinois and Illinois State.
- Against Illinois State, Kenall Hansen led the Sycamores, setting too pool-record times in th3 100 and 200 backstrokes.
- Martina Marks won three events against Illinois State, 100 free, 200 free and 200 IM.
- Last season at Indiana State the Musketeer women fell to the host Sycamores, who only field a women's team. With Olivet Nazarene also at the meet,
- Xavier men's and women's swimming swept the defending NAIA champions on both the men's and women's side.
- Combined, the Musketeers took first place in 19 events on the day.
- Indiana State finished fourth at the Missouri Valley Conference Championships.

WOMEN'S LAST TIME OUT |
- The Musketeers were last in at West Virginia with Seton Hall. The Musketeers picked up a win over BIG EAST foe SHU and fell to the Mountaineers.
- Xavier opened the first night with a second-place finish in the 200 medley relay for Ali Fort, Lydia Schaeffer, Caroline Gaertner and Emily Conners. Xavier's B-squad of Laura Dicus, Becca Titterton, Taylor Hogan and Tianna Vozar placed third.
- Emma Kauffeld led all Musketeers, and competitors from the BIG EAST, with a third-place finish with a season-best time of 10:35.94.
- Emily Saugstad's third place finish in the 200 free was the best among BIG EAST competitors.
- Ali Fort led the Musketeers in the 100 back with a season-best time of 57.99. Caroline Gaertnertouched just behind her in fourth as the top two finishers from the BIG EAST.
- Lydia Schaeffer led the Musketeers in the 100 breast. Becca Titterton touched in fourth.
- Taylor Hogan led all BIG EAST competitors in the 200 fly, finishing second.
In the final event of the night, Emily Conners placed second in the 50 free, and was the top finisher from the BIG EAST, with a time of 23.55, just .01 off her season best time. Tianna Vozar finished just behind Conners in third. - Emily Conners opened the day by taking the top spot in the 100 free with a time of 51.91.
- Taylor Hogan led the Musketeers in a pair of events, taking second in the 100 fly and placing fourth in the 200 back with a time of 2:06.81.
- In the 100 fly, Annie Cummins finished just behind Hogan in third and Lorelei Gaertner touched fourth.
- Lydia Schaeffer led the Musketeers in the 200 breast with a time of 2:27.69. Alison Herman touched just behind her in fourth place.
- Emma Kauffeld continued to lead the Musketeers in distance free, placing fifth in the 500 free.
- Alison Herman led the Musketeers with a second-place finish in the 200 IM.
- Xavier closed out the meet with a second-place finish in the 400 free relay for Conners, Abigail Garner, Tianna Vozar and Caroline Gaertner.
- Xavier topped Seton Hall by a final score of 176-111, and fell to West Virginia, 199.5-93.5.

- Xavier's full squad will be back in action tomorrow, Saturday, Oct. 27, when the Musketeers travel to Cleveland State with events set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
