Men's Soccer Drops Road Match at Loyola, 1-0

CHICAGO – Loyola Chicago took advantage of one of the few scoring chances for either team, getting a 29th minute goal to steal a 1-0 win over Xavier men's soccer on Tuesday night at Loyola Soccer Park.
The Ramblers managed just two shots on goal and outshot Xavier 6-4 in a mostly even match, but Vasco Cardoso got loose in the box and on the end of a cross from Billy Hency for the game-winner in the first half.
Xavier dropped to 4-3-5, 2-1-1 BIG EAST with six matches to play, including a big matchup against No. 12 Creighton on Friday night at 7 p.m. at XU Soccer Complex.
Loyola Chicago improved to 5-4-2 with the win.
