Musketeers Fall to No. 25 Minnesota on Wednesday Night

Tierra Floyd scored a team-high 10 points in Xavier's 78-53 loss
CINCINNATI - Xavier women's basketball dropped a 78-53 contest to No. 25 Minnesota on Wednesday night at Cintas Center. The Musketeers moved to 2-1 on the year, while the Golden Gophers improved to 2-0.
• Sophomore A'riana Gray nearly missed her third career double-double and second in as many games, finishing with nine points and a team-high 10 rebounds. The forward is now averaging a team-best 8.3 rebounds per game. She added two steals on the night.
• Xavier forced 18 turnovers, turning the miscues into 21 points - seven more than the Golden Eagles scored off of turnovers. The Musketeers also had one more steal (8-7) than Minnesota.
• Redshirt-junior Tierra Floyd scored a team-high 10 points on 4-for-8 shooting with four rebounds and two steals in 17 minutes of action off the bench.
• Sophomore Aaliyah Dunham scored nine points on 4-for-8 shooting to go along with a team-high three assists. She added two steals and one rebound.
• Sophomore Aly Reiff chipped in eight points on 3-for-4 shooting with two 3-pointers. Freshman Lauren Wasylson added seven points and two rebounds.
• Minnesota posted a .492 field-goal percentage, while going 15-for-19 from the foul line. Kenisha Bell led the team in scoring with 18 points on 7-for-10 shooting, while Taiye Bello posted a double-double (11 points; 16 rebounds).
• Minnesota led from start to finish and outscored the Musketeers 20-7 in the first quarter. Xavier outscored Minnesota, 21-16, in the fourth quarter on 8-for-16 shooting.
• Xavier ends its four-game homestand on Saturday, Nov. 17 against Fairfield (2-0) at Cintas Center. Tip-off is slated for 2 p.m.
