Men's Basketball Looks To Bounce Back Against San Diego State

Musketeers lost to No. 8 Auburn in overtime on Monday.
MAUI, HI --- The Xavier Musketeers take on the San Diego State Aztecs on Tuesday on the second day of the Maui Jim Maui Invitational. The two teams have never met on the basketball court.
Xavier, 2-2, is looking to bounce back from an 88-79 overtime loss to No. 8 Auburn on Monday. The Musketeers battled back from an 11-point second-half deficit to force overtime. San Diego State, 2-1, is coming off a 90-64 loss to No. 1 Duke on Monday. Both teams played in the 2018 NCAA Tournament.
San Diego State will notice a familiar face on the Xavier roster. Xavier graduate transfer Ryan Welage competed against the Aztecs for three seasons in the Mountain West Conference as a standout at San José State. Welage, a 2017-18 Mountain West Conference Honorable Mention selection, averaged 11.5 ppg. in six games vs. San Diego State, including 23 points at SDSU as a freshman in the 2015-16 season.
