Xavier Preps for Three Consecutive Days of Matches

CINCINNATI- Xavier men's tennis will host BIG EAST rival, Georgetown, on Friday, Feb. 23 at 1 p.m. at the Eastern Hills Indoor Tennis Club. On Saturday, Feb. 24, Xavier will host Northern Illinois at 4:30 p.m. at the Eastern Hills Indoor Tennis Club. On Sunday, Feb. 25, Xavier will travel to Dayton, Ohio to face instate rival, Wright State.

The Musketeers will attempt to pick up the first win of the season. Xavier is coming off a tough 4-2 loss to Appalachian State. The Musketeers won one singles match and two doubles matches. At No. 4 singles, Gabriel Araujo won in two sets, 6-2, 6-3. At No.1 doubles, Jack Dykema and Araujo won, 6-4. At No. 2 doubles, the Connor LaFavre and Brett Winters duo won their match, 6-4.

Xavier met Georgetown in Washington, DC last March, where Xavier won the match, 5-2. The Hoyas are 1-1 on the season, coming off a 5-2 win over Monmouth N.J.

Northern Illinois is 8-3 on the season and coming off a win over IUPUI, 6-1. This is the Musketeers first match against the Huskies.

Xavier met Wright State last January in Cincinnati, where Xavier won, 7-0. The Rowdy Raiders are 2-5 the season, coming off a 6-1 loss to Belmont.
