Xavier Hosts Dayton and Detroit Mercy This Weekend

CINCINNATI- Xavier men's tennis will host University of Dayton on Friday, March 16 at 1 p.m. Xavier will host Detroit Mercy on Saturday, March 17 at 3 p.m. Both dual matches will be played at the Jim and Mary Brockhoff Family Tennis Facility.

Xavier defeated Dayton, 4-1, last January. Dayton is 14-3 on the season, coming off a 7-0 victory over La Salle.

Detroit Mercy is 7-6 on the season, coming off a 0-4 loss to Lipscomb.

Xavier head coach, Doug Matthews, shared his thoughts on the remaining matches of the season.

"We know we are better than our record," said Matthews. "We play solid doubles and are getting healthier in singles. We need to start winning matches for confidence purposes. Our guys have continued to have a good attitude and we believe that if we keep working hard good things will happen."

The Musketeers are 2-10 on the season and have eight remaining matches. Senior night will be recognized on the March 25 match against Eastern Kentucky.
