Damien Richard Posts Strong Start as Baseball Falls in Pitcher's Duel to Open Weekend

MORAGA, Calif. - Senior Damien Richard threw 6.1 innings of one-run ball, but Xavier's bats were cold to open the weekend in a 1-0 loss to Saint Mary's on Sunday at Louis Guisto Field.
The Musketeeers (3-6) dropped a second straight despite strong pitching from Richard and freshman Evan Miller. It was the first time XU has been shut out this season.
Saint Mary's improved to 5-3 with the win.
