No. 1 Seed Xavier Takes On No. 5 Seed Providence In BIG EAST Tournament Semifinals

Musketeers making their fifth BIG EAST semifinal appearance in five years.
NEW YORK --- No. 1 seed Xavier has at least advanced to the BIG EAST Tournament semifinals in each of its five seasons in the BIG EAST Conference. No. 5 seed Providence is the only BIG EAST team that XU has not faced in the BIG EAST Tournament. The two teams face off on Friday night at Madison Square Garden.

• Xavier's Trevon Bluiett, who had 27 points in XU's win yesterday over St. John's, is sixth in the BIG EAST in scoring at 19.7 ppg. He has scored 2,214 points (second on XU's all-time scoring list). His 314 career 3-pointers set a new school record.
• Xavier's Trevon Bluiett was a unanimous selection by league coaches to the BIG EAST First Team. Bluiett, a three-time All-BIG EAST First Team member, is one of only 13 players in BIG EAST history to be named to the First Team three times.
• Xavier senior J.P. Macura is 20th on XU's all-time scoring list with 1,436 points.
• Xavier sophomore Quentin Goodin is third in the BIG EAST in assists at 5.0 apg. and assist/turnover ratio at 2.19.
• Xavier ninth-year head coach Chris Mack, the 2018 BIG EAST Conference Coach of the Year, is XU's all-time wins leader at 214-95.
• Xavier, a 2017 NCAA Elite Eight team, has made it to at least the Sweet 16 six times in the last 10 years, one of only eight schools that can say that. XU is one of only eight schools have been to at least 11 of the last 12 NCAA tournaments.
