• The Musketeers most recently competed in three meets, including two meets in California. Xavier sent a small squad of student-athletes to the Mt. SAC Relays and the Bryan Clay Invite and a squad to the Pacesetter Invite hosted by Indiana State.Â
• The Mt. SAC Relays was highlighted by Madeline Britton posting a time of 34:28 in the 10,000-meter run - a 20 second PR - and the 24th quickest time the NCAA East Region. Jenna Clayworth posted a time of 16:40.25 in the 5,000-meter run at the Bryan Clay Invitational, the fourth fastest time in the BIG EAST this season and the 24th fastest time nationally among freshmen.
• Nolan Daniels also posted a college-best time of 1:51.90 in the 800-meter run at the Bryan Clay Invite, while Grant Stapleton posted a PR of 1:53.45 in the 800-meter run.
• Xavier also posted 18 top-10 finishes at the Pacesetter Invitational hosted by Indiana State. Sarah Clark paced the women's team with a second-place finish in the 1,500-meter run (4:43.46) - a new PR - while William Roberts set the school record in the 400-meter hurdles (55.02) with a second-place finish.Â
Â
"This will be our first time competing at the Gina Relays. This meet has a rich 51 year history and I'm proud to say that we had eight athletes that made the championship section of their events. Most of the athletes that made the championship sections will be trying to improve their standing in the BIG EAST rankings but a few will be shooting for NCAA marks."
"Maddie Britton will be looking to run sub 16:30 for the 5K and put herself in a position to make both the 10K and 5K semifinals at NCAA's, while Nolan Daniels will be trying to get back to what he ran last year post-season in the 800 which would more than likely get him to first rounds."
"I'm looking forward to racing at a new meet and it will be streamed live on FloTrack for our alumni and families of the athletes to watch."
Â
• Xavier closes regular-season action on Saturday, May 5 at the Kentucky Relays in Lexington, Ky.
