Yesterday was absolutely incredible!!! Thanks to a generous donor we were able to fly to Rio de Janeiro for the day. We went to the Christ the Redeemer Statue which was absolutely breathtaking. It was so high up on the hill that we were literally taking pictures in the clouds. It was awesome to get to see one of the wonders of the world while we were here in Rio.

We also got to go to the beach called Copacabana. It was BEAUTIFUL. The waves were giant because it is the middle of winter here in Brazil, but it was still in the 70's temperature wise. I am so incredibly thankful for the opportunity to explore Rio on Thursday and see the wonderful place that God created.

The men's and women's USA basketball teams are doing really well here. Our men just won tonight (Thursday) and will be playing in the semifinals against Brazil, on Friday at 6:15 p.m. EST. The Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area is represented on this team as well as the BIG EAST! Drew McDonald, a rising senior at Northern Kentucky is here, as well as Eli Cain who is also a rising senior at DePaul.

The women's USA Team will play on Friday as well! We play at 2:15 p.m. EST against Chile. Be sure to tune in today on Facebook Live and cheer on your USA teams as we both make a run at the gold!
