Simen Hestnes Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll Following Hat Trick in Season Opener

NEW YORK - Simen Hestnes was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday, following his explosive offensive performance in the Xavier men's soccer season opener last week.
The senior midfielder turned in a hat trick in just 32 minutes as Xavier defeated visiting Cincinnati Christian, 6-0, to open the season on Friday night at XU Soccer Complex.
Hestnes, a preseason All-BIG EAST selection, led the team with eight shots for the week including five on goal. He also helped Xavier to a road result at Big Ten opponent Northwestern on Sunday, as the two sides battled to a 0-0 draw.
Xavier (1-0-1) returns to action on Friday, Aug. 31 traveling to Oregon State for a 9 p.m. ET match in Corvallis, Ore.
