Simen Hestnes Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll Following Four Point Effort Against UC

CINCINNATI - Simen Hestnes was recognized with a league award for the second time in three weeks, earning a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll following his four-point effort against Cincinnati last Friday.
The senior midfielder played a part in all three goals in XU's 3-1 victory in the Crosstown Derby, scoring in the 88th minute and adding two assists as the Musketeers improved to 2-0-2 on the season.Â
Hestnes assisted on Tomek Pauer's sixth minute goal and on Samson Sergi's go-ahead 80th minute tally. In the 88th minute, he stole a ball in the final third and finished 1-on-1 to give Xavier a two goal cushion.Â
The goal was his team-leading fourth of the season, while his two assists were his first of the fall. He leads Xavier with 10 points overall (4g, 2a).
Xavier returns to action at home on Tuesday night, facing unbeaten Kentucky (4-0) at XU Soccer Complex. First touch is set for 7 p.m. ET.
