The senior libero now has 1,621 career digs to rank 3rd all-time at Xavier

CINCINNATI - Senior Meredith Klare moved into third place in career digs at Xavier on Saturday night as the Musketeers dropped a four-set match (20-25, 20-25, 25-23, 22-25) at crosstown rival Cincinnati. The match was played at St. Ursula Academy.

The Musketeers (2-9) went 1-2 during Queen City Classic action, while the Bearcats went 2-1. Cincinnati improved to 9-3 on the year.

NOTABLES

• Senior Meredith Klare finished the match with a team-high 13 digs. The libero now has 1,621 digs to rank third all-time at Xavier. She is now 107 digs away from moving into second place with Beth Osterday (1996-99). Klare finished the weekend averaging 3.90 digs per set.

• Senior Laura Grossman led the Musketeers with 16 kills. She added a .388 hitting percentage, seven digs, two assists and one ace.

• Sophomore Moriah Hopkins added eight kills, while Jayda Carlton and Audrey Adams both finished with seven. Carlton and Adams both hit .500 in the match and combined for seven blocks (six assist, one solo).

• Freshman Jayda Carlton led the Musketeers in blocks over the weekend, averaging 1.60 blocks per set. She added 16 kills and a .314 hitting percentage.

• Sophomore Nadia Dieudonne posted 16 assists and 10 digs, while senior McKena Estes collected 26 assists and three digs.

• Senior Morgan Finn had five kills and three blocks. The right-side hitter finished the weekend with 21 kills and a .327 hitting percentage.

• Xavier had two more total team blocks (8-6) than the Bearcats, while Cincinnati had three more aces (5-2).
