Loss snaps seven-match unbeaten streak, Musketeers' best start since 2012
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – No. 22/18 Xavier men's soccer suffered its first loss of 2018, falling behind early in a tough 4-1 road outing at No. 20/19 Notre Dame on Tuesday night at Alumni Stadium.
The match was called after 72 minutes of play due to inclement weather in the South Bend area.
The Musketeers missed on a few good scoring chances early and trailed by a pair at the break, but dented the scoreboard on a 59th minute goal by Matt Nance.
Overall, the loss moved XU to 3-1-4 on the season and snapped a seven match unbeaten streak. XU was one of just 10 unbeaten teams left in the nation going into the match.
Notre Dame snapped a three-match losing streak, all coming against Top 5 opposition, and moved to 4-3-1 on the season.
