Â
WOMEN
"We're ready to get our varsity group back into racing after being off for the past three weeks. Our women's team goal is to place in the top six and challenge some of the stronger teams like Vanderbilt, Louisville and Kentucky by focusing on the middle of their top five. We know we'll have a low number with Anna up front but we need to focus on our 2 through 4 runners being closer to the middle scoring portion of those teams. This will be an important weekend for us because it will determine our regional ranking going into Pre-Nationals which determines if we get into the fast race at Pre-Nationals."
Â
MEN
"Our men's team is a little banged up right now with Brady Harless not racing, and two others not being at full strength. I'm going to use this meet as an opportunity to see where we stack up against our Big East rivals Marquette and DePaul. Obviously, we won't have a total picture but it will give me a chance to plan out what we need to do come championship time in order to compete for a top five spot. I know we have a few freshmen who are looking to have breakout races this weekend, so they could be the difference once we have everyone back in the lineup."
Â
• Xavier returns to action at Pre-Nationals in Terre Haute, Ind., on Saturday, Oct. 19.
