Musketeers return home to host Creighton next Friday

VILLANOVA, Pa. - Xavier men's soccer dropped a 1-0 match at Villanova on Friday afternoon at the Higgins Soccer Complex . The Musketeers moved to 4-5-1 on the year overall and 0-3 in BIG EAST play while the Wildcats moved to 6-3-1 and 1-1-1 in BIG EAST action.

SCORING RECAP

80' | VU | Theo Quartey scored his first of the season from Sean Teixeira, shooting from the left side with the ball trickling over the line before Xavier's defense could clear it.

NOTABLE

• Through 10 matches, the Musketeers have not allowed a goal in the first half.

• The Musketeers were held without a goal for only the second time this season.

• Xavier trailed the Wildcats 15-10 on shots overall but were equal with VU, 5-5, on attempts on frame.

• Noah Boffo led the Musketeers with four shots total, including two on-target. Derrick Otim also had a pair of looks on-frame.

• Matthew Rosenberg (4-5-1) made four saves in-frame to hold the Wildcats to a single goal.
