Xavier moves back to .500 with four-set win over Providence

CINCINNATI, OH. - Xavier celebrated Senior Day in style by coming away with a four-set victory over Providence. In addition to celebrating Libero Madi Kutruff and Technical Advisor Nick Hogan, the Musketeers came away with a 25-20, 19-15, 25-17, 25-21 win to move to 8-8 in BIG EAST play.

Highlights

• On Senior Day, Madi Kutruff led the Musketeers with 17 digs, bringing her career total to 481. With a similar performance next week, Kutruff could surpass the 500 digs mark by season's end.

• Three Musketeers hit double-digit kill totals as Kelly Franxman (15), Norah Painter (11) and Lauren Hanlon (10) each had a strong outing for Xavier.

• The defensive effort was once again led by Jayda Carlton, who accumulated six blocks (one solo), while Moriah Hopkins and Ellie Chaffee each chipped in five.

UP NEXT

• Xavier's 2019 campaign ends next weekend with a home game against Butler on November 22 followed by the final road trip to Indianapolis on November 23.
