Xavier falls to Butler, seeks revenge on Saturday

CINCINNATI, OH. - In the final match of 2019 inside the Cintas Center, Madi Kutruff eclipsed 400 digs in her senior season while Lauren Hanlon surpassed 250 kills in her debut season. The Musketeers ultimately fell to Butler 23-25, 23-25, 20-25, but they can avenge their loss on Saturday when the team travels to Indianapolis for the last match of the season.

Highlights

• In addition to recording her 400th dig of the season, Madi Kutruff led Xavier with 22 digs and also added an assist in her final home match with the Musketeers.

• Lauren Hanlon recorded her 250th kill of the season as part of her team-high nine-kill performance. The freshman also added four blocks and 11 points to her stat sheet.

• In a side-battle, Jayda Carlton, the BIG EAST block leader faced Butler's Melody Davidson, the BIG EAST's second-best blocker, and came away with four rejections to Davidson's three.
