Men's Swimming Jumps to Second Place While Women Remain in First After Day Two of Magnus Cup

Swimming enters the third and final day the meet tomorrow morning.
CLEVELAND - Men's and women's swimming wrapped up the second day of the eighth annual CSU Magnus Cup Friday evening. The women kept their first place standing while the men jumped to second, just behind Cleveland State. The meet wraps up tomorrow, Sunday Nov. 24 at 9 a.m.

 WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS |
- In the opening even in today's competition, Ali Fort, Alison Herman, Taylor Hogan and Emily Conners earned a second place finish, 1:43.85, just in front of Brooke Atkins, Lydia Schaeffer, Lorelei Gaertner and Emily Saugstad who claimed third in the 200 medley relay.Â
- Taylor Hogan led the Musketeers in the 400 IM claiming fifth place, 4:27.98, just short of fourth.Â
- In the 100 butterfly, Taylor Hogan declared fourth with a 55.46 finish.Â
- In the 200 free, Emily Conners led Xavier earning a second-place finish, touching the wall at 1:51.55.
- Alison Herman finished in sixth for the 100 breaststroke at 1:05.42.
- Ali Fort touched second in the 100 backstroke, 55.55 in the A-Final.
- In the final event, the 800 freestyle relay, Emily Conners, Clare Bosse, Emily Saugstad and Abby Garner finished in second behind Delaware at 7:34.32. Â
- Xavier remained in first after day two with a score of 755.5.

- In the opening 200 medley, Alex Sironen, Jon Bernard, Brandon Abboud and Noah Coomier took a time of 1:31.99 to earn third while Andrew Devine, Roark Lundai, Joey Mullen and Ethan Wing came in sixth.Â
- Will Serad earned a 4:03.72 finish in the 400 IM to land second place on the men's side.Â
- For the Musketeers, Brandon Abboud led in the 100 butterfly in fourth, 49.88.Â
- Xavier maintained second and third place for the 200 freestlye, led by Ben Quon at 1:40.51 and Andrew Martin shortly behind in third.Â
- Will Serad touched the wall sixth in the 100 breaststroke with Roark Lundai coming in a close seventh.Â
- In the 100 backstroke, Alex Sironen finished second, 50.02.
- The men also took a second place finish in the 800 freestlye relay, when Jared Ritz, Jon Bernard, Andrew Martin and Ben Quon touched the wall at 6:47.05
- Xavier jumps to second place with a 693 score.Â
