
Women's Swimming Wins Magnus Cup While Men Come in Close Second

The women earned three top individual finishes.
CLEVELAND - Men's and women's swimming wrapped up the final day of Magnus Cup this afternoon with the women finishing in first place. The men finished in a close second behind host, Cleveland State.Â

 WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS |
- The final day of Magnus opened with the 1650 free, which Emma Kauffeld placed fifth with 17:24.28 time.Â
- In the A-Final of the 200 backstroke, Ali Fort took fourth, at 2:01.64, shaving a little more than a minute off her prelim time.Â
- Emily Conners placed first in the A-Final of the 100 free, finishing at 50.51.Â
- In the 200 breast, Kelly Harris and Alison Herman tied for a seventh-place finish at 1:22.86.Â
- Taylor Hogan lead all swimmers in the 200 butterfly, finishing in first at 2:02.19
- In the 400 free relay, Emily Conners, Emily Saugstad, Abby Garner and Maureen Cummins touched first at 3:25.21.

 MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS |
- The Musketeers took three of the top five finishes in the opening competition of the 1650 free, with Andrew Martin taking a second-place finish, touching the wall at 15:49.68. Will Serad also placed fourth in front of Brett Wilson in fifth.Â
- In the second event, Ben Quon took fourth in the 200 back at 1:51.00, improving his time from preliminaries. Jon Bernard was shortly behind in fifth, also improving his final time.Â
- Brandon Abboud placed for Xavier in the 100 free, finishing in fifth.Â
- Cameron Weese took an eighth-place finish in the 200 breaststroke.Â
- Brandon Abboud led the Musketeers in the 200 butterfly finishing in sixth, just in front of Landon Clark and Brett Wilson.Â
- Jared Ritz, Ethan Wing, Brandon Abboud and Christian Thomas took third in the 400 free relay, just short of Gannon who earned second.Â
