Women's Swimming Takes First, Men Take Third After One Day at Magnus Cup

Swimming continues action tomorrow at Cleveland State.
CLEVELANDÂ - Men's and women's swimming wrapped up the first day of the eighth annual CSU Magnus Cup Friday evening. The women completed the first day in first while the men sit in third. The meet continues tomorrow, Saturday Nov. 23 at 9 a.m.

 WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS |
- Xavier's A Team of Emily Conners, Emily Saugstad, Clare Bosse and Maureen Cummins started the meet strong, claiming a first place finish in the 200 freestyle relay.Â
- Emma Kauffeld placed eighth in the 500 freestyle marking a time of 5:05.50 in the A-Final.Â
- Alison Herman earned a third-place finish in the A-Final of the 200 yard IM while Brooke Akins finished in eighth.Â
- Emily Conners took the top finish in the 50 freestyle, in front of Emily Saugstad who claimed who finished in third. Maureen Cummins finished in fourth in the A-Final.Â
- Brooke Atkins, Lydia Shaeffer, Taylor Hogan and Emily Conners took second in the 400-medley relay, touching the wall at 3:48.64.Â
- Xavier stands in first with a score of 320.

 MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS |
- Ethan Wing, Matthew Geraghty, Roark Lundal and Ben Quon were the A Team on the men's side, taking a close fifth in the 200 freestyle relay, barley behind Delaware.
- In the 500 yard freestyle, Andrew Martin finished in second, touching the wall at the 4:33.14 mark.Â
- Davis Klein finished in sixth on the men's side of the 200-yard IM.
- Roark Lundal finished in 12thin the 50 freestyle.Â
- Christian Thomas, Jon Bernard, Brandon Abboud and Ethan Wing finished in third, with a finals time of 3:22.11 in the 400-medley relay.
- Xavier is in third place with 258Â points.
