Men's Soccer Announces Full Spring Schedule, Including Date for Devin's Game

CINCINNATI - Xavier men's soccer announced its complete spring exhibition schedule on Friday, featuring three home matches at XU Soccer Complex. The spring slate concludes with a matchup against Northwestern at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 27 in the annual Devin's Game, which benefits the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Cincinnati.
Xavier will play five matches total, including road matches at Indianapolis and Saint Louis. XU will host Bellarmine, Ohio Wesleyan and Northwestern at XU Soccer Complex.
"The spring is my favorite time as far as developing guys and seeing players emerge as we shape our new team for 2019," said head coach Andy Fleming. "I look at it as training eight months to play for four and that our 2019 season truly begins in the winter/spring. Each spring schedule has to be unique to the needs of your group and I think this one does just that. We will see two Top 25-level Division II teams with outstanding coaches, a perennial Division III national title contender with college soccer's all-time winningest coach and two national-level programs with great tradition and coaches in St Louis and Northwestern, who will participate in the eighth edition of Devin's Game."
Xavier finished the 2018 season 6-7-6 (4-4-1 BIG EAST). The Musketeers have never finished below .500 or missed the six-team BIG EAST Championships field since joining the conference for the 2013 season.
