Women's Tennis Tops Dayton to Extend Win Streak to Five

Musketeers return to Eastern Hills to host ETSU Saturday, Cornell on Sunday
CINCINNATI - Xavier women's tennis moved its winning streak to five with a sweep of Dayton, 7-0. The Musketeers, now at 7-2, return to action tomorrow with ETSU at Eastern Hills Indoor Tennis Club.
"It was great seeing the girls step up today, especially with two girls out," said Lauren Fitz-Randolph. "Looking forward to seeing what more we can accomplish this weekend!"

In doubles, the Musketeers opened play with a win in the No. 1 spot, 6-0 for Sophia Abelson and Kaitlin Ruether. Zoe Manion and Natalie Moyer secured the point with a 6-3 win in the No. 3 spot. Emily Thomas and Hunter Roper were tied, 4-4 in the No. 2 spot when the point was decided.
Xavier claimed all five singles matches that were played, each in two sets. Emily Thomas played in the No. 1 spot for the first time in her Xavier career, taking the two set win, 6-1, 6-2.
Hunter Roper took a 6-2, 7-5 win in the No. 2 spot. Kaitlin Ruether played in the No. 3 singles spot, winning 6-1, 6-0.
Natalie Moyer played No. 4 singles, winning 6-0, 6-3. Lauren Fitz-Randolph completed the sweep with a 6-2, 6-1 win in the No. 5 spot. Dayton did not field a player for No. 6 singles, giving Zoe Manion Xavier's seventh point.
