ORLANDO - Xavier women's tennis moved to 11-2 on the season with a ninth-straight win, beating Howard, 7-0, in Orlando on Tuesday Afternoon.

"The match was a team effort and everyone came ready to play," said freshman Natalie Moyer. "The team stayed focused and energized the whole time and we came out with a solid, quick win."

THE MATCH

Xavier collected the doubles point with a 6-0 win in the No. 3 spot for Hunter Roper and Rachael Reichenbach, and a 6-1 win in the No. 3 spot for Sophia Abelson and Kaitlin Ruether. The win for Abelson and Ruether is their ninth straight as a pair.

Ahmeir Kyle and Emily Thomas also grabbed a victory in the No. 1 spot, 6-1.

Xavier moved ahead, 2-0, after Ahmeir Kyle's opponent retired in the No. 1 spot. Kyle was leading 3-0 in the first set. Sophia Abelson extended the lead to 3-0 with a 6-0, 6-1 win in the No. 2 spot.

Hunter Roper collected the third point for the Musketeers, winning 6-1, 6-1 in the No. 4 spot. Emily Thomas then added to the Musketeer lead with a 6-1, 6-0 win in the No. 3 spot. Kaitlin Ruether continued Xavier's success in the No. 5 spot, defeating Howard 6-2, 6-0, for her eighth-straight singles win.

Natalie Moyer took a 6-0, 6-3 win in the No. 6 spot, and collected the final point for the Musketeers.
