PHOENIX, Ariz. - Xavier baseball fell 6-0 in game two of its series against Grand Canyon on Thursday night at GCU Ballpark.
The series evened at a game apiece as XU moved to 6-9 on the young season. GCU improved to 7-10 with the win.
Xavier continues the series against GCU with game three scheduled for Friday at 9:30 p.m. ET.

• Xavier was held to five hits and left five on base in the game. XU was shut out for the second time this season.
• Senior Chris Givin went 3-for-5 out of the two hole, improving his season batting average to .333.
• Conor Grammes (1-for-4) and Jake Shepski (1-for-4).

• Senior Matt Kent got the start and went 2.2 innings, allowing three earned runs and striking out one.
• Sophomore Trevor Olson followed with four innings of solid relief, allowing two earned runs and striking out four.
• Seth Klaiber and Sam Czabala combined to finish out the game, tossing 1.1 innings of scoreless relief.
