Xavier Baseball Falls 7-2 in Game Three at Grand Canyon

PHOENIX, Ariz. - Xavier baseball got homers from Chris Givin and Allbry Major, but fell 7-2 in game three of its series against Grand Canyon on Friday night at GCU Ballpark.
XU will look to salvage a split in the finale on Saturday with first pitch scheduled for 5 p.m. ET.
Xavier dropped to 6-10 overall with the loss. Grand Canyon improved to 8-10.

• Chris Givin was 1-for-4 with a solo homer, his first longball of the season.
• Allbry Major was 1-for-4 with a walk and also had a solo homer. The blast was his third of the season.
• Jake Shepski (2-for-4) and Matt Warkentin (2-for-4) each had multi-hit efforts for XU.

• Sophomore Nick Zwack made the start, going four innings and allowing five earned runs. The lefty struck out a pair.
• Lane Flamm came on to throw two innings while allowing one run. The freshman struck out one.
• Nathan Berg contributed 1.1 innings and struck out a season-high three, allowing one run and zero hits.
• Sam Czabala got the last two outs for the Musketeers, striking out one in a scoreless appearance. The senior lefty has five scoreless appearances to begin the season (3.2 IP, 6K)
