Musketeers win 12th Straight Match
ORLANDO - Xavier women's tennis moved to 14-2 on the season with their 12th straight win, beating Rockhurst, 6-1, in Orlando on Friday afternoon. The Musketeers went undefeated in four Spring Break matches and return from Orlando undefeated in BIG EAST Conference play.Â
"Today was a full team effort having a double header in the hot Florida heat," said freshman Anna Letto. "I couldn't be more proud of how this team has competed and has shown incredible grit this whole season."

Xavier collected the doubles point with a 6-1 win in the No. 1 spot for Sophia Abelson and Kaitlin Ruether. The win for Abelson and Ruether is their 12th straight as a pair. Natalie Moyer and Zoe Manion followed with a 6-4 victory in the No. 2 spot, and teammates Anna Letto and Lauren Fitz-Randolph paired up for a 6-1 win in the No. 3 spot. Â
In singles, Sophia Abelson started off the afternoon with a 6-1, 7-5 win in the No.1 spot. In the No. 2 spot, Emily Thomas extended Xavier's lead to 3-0 with a 6-2, 6-1 victory. Hunter Roper continued the Musketeers' success with a 6-3, 6-1 win in the No. 3 singles spot. Â
Xavier picked up two more two-set wins in the match courtesy of Anna Letto and Lauren Fitz-Randolph. In the No. 4 spot, Letto defeated Rockhurst 6-0, 6-0, while teammate Fitz-Randolph followed with a 6-1, 6-1 win to give Xavier their sixth point.Â
Natalie Moyer was the only Musketeer to fall in the match, losing a hard-fought battle 6-4, 6-7 (8), 9-11, in the No. 4 spot.Â

Xavier returns to action on Saturday, March 23 when the Musketeers take on Marquette. The BIG EAST matchup is set to begin at 3:00 p.m. at the Jim and Mary Brockhoff Family Tennis Center.Â
