NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Conor Grammes went six scoreless and Ryan Altenberger added a three-run homer as Xavier baseball completed a three-game sweep at Lipscomb on Saturday, winning 4-2 in the series finale at Dugan Field.

XU improves to 5-5 overall and wins its fourth straight game, while also taking its first series win of the season. The Bison dropped to 4-5 with the setback.

Xavier returns to action on Tuesday, March 5 for a midweek contest at Miami (OH). First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m.

XU AT THE PLATE

• Ryan Altenberger led Xavier with a 2-for-3 effort at the plate, scoring twice and hitting the deciding three-run homer in the fourth inning.
• Chris Givin (1-for-5), Jake Shepski (1-for-4), Conor Grammes (1-for-4, R), Allbry Major (1-for-4) and Natale Monastra (1-for-3, RBI) also contributed hits for Xavier.

XU ON THE MOUND

• Junior Conor Grammes made the start and delivered six shutout frames, scattering two hits and striking out five to pick up his first win of the season.
• David Williams entered in relief, getting two outs in the seventh with a strikeout.
• Lane Flamm came on to pitch the final 2.1 innings, striking out three and holiding the Bison scoreless.
