Musketeers Continue Outdoor Track and Field Season at Raleigh Relays

CINCINNATI - Xavier track and field continues its outdoor season at the Raleigh Relays hosted by N.C. State on March 29-30. The two-day meet is being held at Paul Derr Track & Field Facility.Â

• The Musketeers are coming off their season-opening meet at the Blizzard Buster hosted by Miami (Ohio) in Oxford, Ohio. The two teams combined to post 26 top-10 finishes.
• On the women's side, Anna Kostarellis won the 1,500-meter run in a time of 4:30.97. All-BIG EAST performer Kara Robinson also placed second in the 400-meter hurdles (1:05.75).
• William Roberts paced the men's team with a second-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles (55.03). Connor Meehan also placed second in the 800-meter run (1:54.53).
• At the outdoor conference championships last season, the Musketeers posted nine top-five finishes and had multiple PRs. Xavier's top returner on the women's team is Jenna Clayworth who placed fifth in the 5,000-meter run (16:45.81). William Roberts was the top male finisher at the championships, placing fourth in the 400-meter hurdles (55.42).

"It looks like we're set up for a great weekend of racing at the Raleigh Relays. The weather looks great and the competition looks even better. This is exactly what our athletes need to break some school records and climb up the BIG EAST leader board. A meet of this caliber also helps us prepare and get ready for the competition they'll see at the BIG EAST Championships. My goals are to come home with three school records and one time that will eventually move on to the first round of NCAA's."
