Women's Golf Returns to Action in South Carolina at Edisto Island Invitational

EDISTO ISLAND, S.C. - Xavier women's golf is heading back to the links this Sunday at the Edisto Island Invitational. The Musketeers return to action after they posted a tournament victory at the Jackrabbit Invitational and a fourth place finish at the Lady Thunderbird Invitational over a spring break trip out west.
XU ranks first in the BIG EAST with an average score of 299.32 and a versus-par of 12.77 over 22 rounds. They also lead the BIG EAST in wins with three tournament victories on the season.
Mikayla Fitzpatrick holds the number one ranking in the conference with an average score of 73.73 and a versus-par of 2.09. She has four top-five individual finishes over the eight tournaments XU has played in.
Xavier has two other golfers in the top 10, Lyndsey Hunnell is ranked fourth and Mikayla Smith ranks sixth in conference. Hunnell averages 74.74 per round and has posted three top-10 finishes on the season. Smith averages 75.27 per round with three top-10 finishes.
The Musketeers will get another look at BIG EAST foe Seton Hall this weekend. Seton Hall currently ranks second in the BIG EAST.

Edisto Island Invitational will consist of 54 holes, with 36 being played on Sunday and the final 18 on Monday.
Round one will begin with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. and round two will begin 45 minutes after round one concludes.
The tournament field consists of 16 teams: Bethune Cookman, Charleston Southern, The Citadel, College of Charleston, College of Charleston (White), Delaware, Elon,James Madison, Morehead State, North Florida, Presbyterian, Seton Hall, USC Upstate, Western Carolina, William & Mary and Xavier.
