Men's Basketball Prepares To Host St. John's In Regular Season Finale On Saturday

XU looking to even its BIG EAST record.
CINCINNATI --- The Xavier University Musketeers, 16-14 overall and 8-9 in the BIG EAST Conference, play their final home game of the 2018-19 season on Saturday vs. St. John's, 20-10 overall and 8-9 in the BIG EAST. XU is looking to bounce back after having its five-game winning streak snapped at Butler on Tuesday night.
Xavier will honor its three graduate transfers Kyle Castlin, Zach Hankins and Ryan Welage before the game as well as all five of its senior student managers: Quinn Douglas, Spike Murray, Collin Southworth, Josh Theis and Deshaun Williams. "Senior Day" festivities will begin at 4:40 p.m.
The Musketeers leads the series 10-3, including eight straight wins over the Red Storm. XU, which won the first meeting this season 84-73 at St. John's on Feb. 28, beat SJU three times last season, including 88-82 at Cintas Center (1-17-18). Sophomore Naji Marshall led all scorers with a career-high 31 points, including a career-high tying five 3-pointers, to go with six rebounds and three steals on Feb. 28 in New York.
Xavier will welcome its three millionth men's basketball fan to Cintas Center on Saturday. Xavier has drawn 2,995,198 fans for men's basketball since Cintas Center opened, an average of 10,085 fans per game for the 297 games played in the arena.
