Conor Grammes goes 1-of-2 at the plate with four walks, allows one run in 5.2 innings on the mound
QUEENS, N.Y. -Â Xavier jumped in front in the fourth inning at St. John's and never trailed, winning 8-1 in the series finale to take the series win. Xavier is now 14-22 overall and 5-1 in BIG EAST play with a pair of conference series wins.
A three-run fourth inning would prove to be all the Musketeers needed to claim the win. The Red Storm scored a single run in the bottom of the fourth, but a three-run eighth and a pair of runs in the ninth sealed the win for Xavier.
The Musketeers return to the road this week, playing at Ohio State on Tuesday for a midweek match-up before hosting Butler for a three-game series beginning on Thursday.
