Game three moved back to Saturday, time to be determined
Butler took a one-run lead in the first inning but Xavier immediately responded with a pair of runs in the bottom of the inning. Xavier added four in the second to push the lead out to five, but BU scored three in the third to pull back within two.Â
Xavier scored a run in the bottom of the third to lead by three before BU put together a four run fourth inning to take the 8-7 lead. A five-run fifth put the Musketeers back ahead, and the Musketeers added another insurance run in the eight to lead 13-8.
The Musketeers and the Bulldogs will close out the series on Saturday, with a time to be determined, after rain prevented game two of the doubleheader.

 XU AT THE PLATE |
- Jake Shepski hit a pair of doubles, going 2-of-4 at the plate with a walk, collecting a team-high four RBIs and scoring a run.
- Luke Franzoni went 3-of-5 at the plate, scoring a pair of runs and collecting an RBI.
- Jack Housinger went 2-of-3 on the day with two walks, scoring a three runs for the Musketeers.
- Allbry Major collected three RBI, including a pair on his third home run of the season.
- Chris Givin also hit his third home run of the season, a solo shot, to extend his on-base streak to 10 games.
- Conor Grammes went 2-of-4 at the plate, with a walk, scoring a pair of runs.

- Griffin Lanoue went three innings in the start, allowing four runs on four hits and a walk with four strikeouts.
- Sam Czabala entered in the fourth inning, pitching two innings with four runs on three hits with one ball and one strikeout.
- Trevor Olson entered in sixth, pitching four innings of no run baseball. Olson finished with two strikeouts, and allowed three hits and three walks.

 HOW THEY SCORED |
FIRST INNING |  With one out in the inning, Jake Shepski walked to give the Musketeers a base runner. Allbry Major sent a homer over the center field wall to give Xavier a 2-1 lead.
SECOND INNING | Jack Housinger led off the inning with a single to right field. Luke Franzoni sent a double down the left field line to put both runners in scoring position. With one out, Conor Grammes was intentionally walked to load the bases and a Jake Shepski double to left center brought in Housinger and Franzoni, pushing Xavier's lead to 5-1. Major put the ball into play to advance the runners, bring Grammes home, putting Xavier ahead, 6-1
THIRD INNING | Jack Housinger hit a one-out double to right center, and Luke Franzoni singled down the left field line to bring Housinger home, bringing Xavier's lead to 7-4.
FIFTH INNING | Chris Givin hit a one-out solo shot over the left field wall to tie the game, 8-8. Jack Housinger walked and Franzoni singled throught the left side to put runners on the corners. Natale Monastra sent Housinger home with a sac bunt, putting Xavier ahead, 9-8. Kody Darcy singled to score Franzoni, adding to the lead 10-8. Grammes singled to put runners on the corners, with Darcy on third and a Jake Shepski double to right center scored a pair, putting Xavier ahead 12-8.
EIGHTH INNING | Matt Warkentin doubled with one out, advanced to third on a wild pitch, then came home on another wild pitch to make Xavier's lead 13-8.
