Musketeers move to 2-0-1 to open season
CINCINNATIÂ -Â Xavier women's soccer remained undefeated to start the season, playing the Dayton Flyers to a 0-0 draw through double overtime. Xavier moves to 2-0-1 to open the season with the draw.
Xavier attacked early, creating several chances in the opening minutes and leading the Flyers, 4-3, on shots in the first half. Dayton would out-shoot Xavier the rest of the way, but were limited to six looks on-frame by the Musketeer defense, with all six collected by goalkeeper Toni Bizzarro for the shut-out, Xavier's first of 2019.

- Molly McLaughlin led the Musketeers with three shots, including one on-frame as Xavier was out-shot 13-8. Samantha Dewey, Rachel Dewey, Carrie Lewis, Sydney Schembri and Jackie Richards each had a chance as well.
- The best opportunity of the night for the Musketeers came from Carrie Lewis, whose look bounced off the crossbar.Â
- Grace Bahr, Hayley Jakovich, and Halle Rogers played the full 110 minutes on Xavier's backline to keep the shutout intact, Xavier's first clean sheet of the season.
- Goalkeeper Toni Bizzarro played the full time in-frame, making six saves to move her record to 1-0-1 on the season.
- The match against Dayton was the second overtime match of 2019 for the Musketeers after winning in double-overtime at Murray State in the season opener.
- The 2-0-1 start to the season is the longest unbeaten streak to open a season for the Musketeers since starting 2016 at 2-0-1.Â
