Four-Goal Second Half Pushes Women's Soccer Past Northern Kentucky

Samantha Dewey scores twice; Grace Bahr and Jackie Richards each tallied
CINCINNATIÂ -Â Â Xavier women's soccer put on an offensive clinic in the second half against Northern Kentucky, scoring four times after the break to top the Norse, 4-0, on Thursday evening.
In the first 45 minutes, Xavier held the advantage on the offensive attack, leading 10-0 on shots in the first half, but the Musketeers were unable to find the back of the net, going into halftime in a scoreless draw.Â
Shortly after the break, Samantha Dewey found what would be the game winner from Grace Brauer, going ahead 1-0. Xavier's offensive attack continued, outshooting the Norse 12-1 in the second period, with the Musketeers breaking through again in the 80th minute, off a rocket from Grace Bahr following a corner kick. Xavier added two more goals in the next four minutes, including a second for Samantha Dewey and the final tally coming from Jackie Richards in the 84th minute.
Xavier's defense posted a third-straight shutout, the fourth of the season, not allowing the Norse an attempt on-goal. Xavier moves to 5-1-1 for 2019, while the Norse fell to 3-4-0.
