• The Xavier women opened the season by winning the Queen City Invitational on Aug. 31, the program's third Queen City Title in program history. The Xavier men placed fifth at the meet.
• Anna Kostarellis won the women's individual title, posting a school-record time of 17:07.80 in the 5K race. Jenna Clayworth (4th - 18:00.30) and Jennifer Prial (9th - 18:07.70) both recorded top-10 finishes.
• Anna Kostarellis was named the BIG EAST Female Athlete of the Week on Sept. 4 for her performance at the Queen City Invitational. She is the first Xavier runner to earn the honors since 2015.

"Both teams are really excited to be heading to Nashville this weekend for the Commodore Classic. This will be the first time our men have gone to the meet but it's been a successful meet for our women's squad over the past two years. On the women's side our goal is to finish in the top eight among the nationally and regionally ranked teams with two girls in the top 20 overall. The men will have a similar goal of finishing in the top ten with at least one guy in the top 20. Because the conditions are projected to be very hot and humid, I've put together a conservative race plan for both teams. We're not conceding to anyone but I want to ensure a safe race for our student-athletes, followed by some great racing in October and November."
• Xavier returns to action at the All-Ohio Championships on Saturday, Sept. 28 in Cedarville, Ohio.
