Xavier closes out non-conference play against in-state rivals
CINCINNATI, OH – Volleyball finishes non-conference action by hosting in-state rivals Cincinnati and Bowling Green. The first match against Cincinnati is scheduled for Thursday, September 19, at 6:00 p.m. ET. On Friday, September 20, Xavier will take on Bowling Green with first serve also set for 6:00 p.m. ET.

BOWLING GREEN AT A GLANCE
• Bowling Green's 5-5 start is marked by two long streaks. In the Hampton Inn Bowling Green Invitational, the Falcons went on a four-match winning streak, knocking off BIG EAST opponent Butler in the process. Following the streak, BGSU lost three-straight at the WKU Holiday Inn-University Plaza Invitational.
• The Falcons have a diverse attack consisting of Petra Indrova, Katelyn Meyer and Jacqueline Askin. Defensively, Katie Kidwell leads the way with 1.21 blocks per set.
• Bowling Green was picked to finish 2nd (out of 6) in the MAC East Division Preseason Coaches' Poll.
• Bowling Green is coached by Danijela Tomic. Tomic begins her eighth season with accolades such as being named the 2017 MAC Coach of the year, a 2017 MAC Championship, and a 2012 NCAA Tournament Victory for the first time in BGSU history.
• Xavier enters this weekend with a 3-5 record after picking up two four-set victories at the Utah State Tournament, beating the host and Eastern Michigan after falling to Southern Utah in their regular-season opener. • The Musketeers take on five teams that participated in the 2018 NCAA Tournament (Eastern Michigan, Louisville, Cincinnati, Marquette and Creighton). Twelve of the Musketeers 20 opponents posted a winning record last year.

• Sophomore Jayda Carlton is the Musketeers' block leader, as she's tallied 32 blocks (1.07 block per set) in eight matches, ranking third in the BIG EAST. She also has three of Xavier's five solo blocks.
• While kills are evenly dispersed throughout Xavier's balanced attack, Redshirt Freshman Lauren Hanlon leads the way with 89 put-aways (3.07 kills per set). Behind her, Moriah Hopkins and Norah Painter chip in with 74 kills and 70 kills respectively.
