The redshirt-junior posted six saves and his first career shutout at Xavier vs No. 2/3 Akron
NEW YORK - Redshirt-junior goalkeeper Matthew Rosenberg was named the BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week on Monday, Sept. 2. The goalkeeper helped the Musketeers post a 2-0 victory over No. 2/3 Akron on Friday, Aug. 30 to open the 2019 season.
The Manalapan, N.J., native made six saves against the Zips in his first career start with the Musketeers. Rosenberg has now posted eight career shutouts during his college career (transfer from Central Florida).
Rosenberg and the Musketeers return to action on Monday, Sept. 2 against Eastern Illinois. First touch is slated for 7 p.m. from the XU Soccer Complex.
