Women's Soccer Tops Lipscomb, 2-1, to Finish Non-Conference Schedule

NASHVILLE -Â Â Xavier women's soccer closed out the non-conference schedule with a 2-1 win at Lipscomb on Sunday afternoon to move to 7-1-2 on the season.
Samantha Dewey put the Musketeers ahead in the first half on a free kick from just outside the 18-yard box. The 1-0 lead held until shortly after halftime, when Lipscomb broke an over five-match scoreless streak for the Musketeers to tie the game at 1-1.
The draw held until the 76th minute when Jenna Prathapa used a header to put the Musketeers back ahead, 2-1. Xavier picked up its seventh win of the season, the first time the Musketeers have picked up seven wins in non-conference play since 2013.

- Jenna Prathapa's game-winner was her first tally as a Musketeer and the 12th of her collegiate career, including 11 from her time at Cleveland State. She's the eighth Musketeer to score so far in 2019.
- Courtney Lankford picked up an assist on Prathapa's goal, her first of the season and her fourth as a Musketeer.
- The Musketeers out-shot Lipscomb 17-7, led by seven shots for Samantha Dewey and three for Prathapa.
- Olivia Jenkins played the full time in-frame, collecting two saves with one goal against for her third win of the season.Â
- Grace Bahr and Hayley Jakovich played the full-time in Xavier's backfield, limiting the Bison to just three shots on goal. Carrie Lewis and Rachel Dewey both clocked 90 minutes in the midfield for the Musketeers as well.
- The Lipscomb goal in the 57th minute ended a streak of 522 minutes without allowing a goal, going back to the Kent State game on Sept. 6.
- Xavier finished non-conference play at 7-1-2, the best mark since going 7-1-1 in non-conference play in 2013.
- Xavier's six-match unbeaten streak is the longest since non-conference play in 2013.
