CINCINNATI- Xavier women's tennis returned to action on Friday afternoon in a 6-1 victory over Northern Kentucky. The Musketeers have now improved to 2-2 after dropping their first two matches of the season.

THE MATCH

Xavier opened the match with a 1-0 lead after grabbing the doubles point. Kaitlin Ruether and Anna Letto secured a 6-2 win in the No. 3 spot, while Ahmeir Kyle and Emily Thomas defended the No. 1 spot with a 6-2 victory. Anna Roggenburk and Rachael Reichenbach defeated NKU in the No. 2 spot, 5-3.

In singles, Letto grabbed a 6-1, 6-1 victory in the No. 6 spot to give Xavier a 2-0 lead. Natalie Moyer gave Xavier their third point following a 6-2, 6-3 win in the No. 5 spot. Ruether then defended the No. 4 singles spot with a 6-3, 6-2 win, and teammate Reichenbach secured a comeback 2-6, 6-1, 10-6 victory in the No. 3 spot.

Emily Thomas gave Xavier their final point following a 6-3, 6-4 win in the No. 2 spot. Northern Kentucky's only point came from Margita Sunjic in the No. 1 spot. Sunjic defeated Roggenburk narrowly, 6-3, 5-7, 11-9.
