Xavier Hosts Creighton On Saturday In A BIG EAST Battle Broadcast Nationally On FOX

Musketeers shoot to even their conference record at 2-2.
CINCINNATI --- The Xavier University Musketeers, 12-4 overall and 1-2 in the BIG EAST Conference, host the Creighton University Bluejays, also 12-4 and 1-2, on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Cintas Center. Both teams are shooting to even their conference records to 2-2. The game will be broadcast nationally on FOX, including FOX 19 in Cincinnati.
Xavier will honor its 2019-20 Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Class at halftime of Saturday's game. The five-member class includes two men's basketball players, 1995 graduate Michael Hawkins and 2007 graduate Justin Doellman.

• Xavier senior Tyrique Jones is averaging a double-double with 13.6 ppg. (17th in the BIG EAST) and 10.1 rpg. (second in BIG EAST), bidding to become the first XU player to do that since 2002-03 National Player of the Year David West did it as a senior.
• Xavier junior Naji Marshall became the 54th member of Xavier's 1,000 Point Club during his 15-point game vs. Seton Hall and now stands at 1,003 points. XU has three other players that are nearing 1,000 career points: seniors Tyrique Jones (981) and Quentin Goodin (961) and junior Jason Carter (950, including 836 at Ohio).
• Xavier senior Quentin Goodin has 516 career assists, which is good for fourth place on Xavier's all-time assist chart. He is 34 assists shy of third-place Tu Holloway (550 from 2008-12).
• Xavier junior Naji Marshall was named this week to the BIG EAST Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the second time this season and the sixth time in his career.
• Xavier's Naji Marshall leads the team in scoring at 16.5 ppg. (fifth in the BIG EAST) and is second in assists at 3.3 apg. (12th in the BIG EAST) and rebounding at 5.5 rpg. (15th in the BIG EAST).
• Xavier junior Paul Scruggs is second on the team in scoring at 14.7 ppg. (12th in the BIG EAST). Scruggs posted a career-high 30-point game at Wake Forest.
• Xavier junior Jason Carter had 14 points vs. Seton Hall, second-highest total at XU.
• Xavier freshman KyKy Tandy hit 4-6 3-pointers in the win over St. John's on Jan. 5 for a XU career-high 12 points in a career-high 22 minutes of action.
