Men's Basketball Hits The Road For Tuesday Night BIG EAST Test At DePaul

DePaul is one of three BIG EAST teams that Xavier has not yet played this season.
CINCINNATI --- The Xavier University Musketeers, 14-8 overall and 3-6 in the BIG EAST Conference, travel to Chicago for a Tuesday night BIG EAST battle with DePaul at 9 p.m. ET. The Musketeers are coming off an impressive 74-62 win at No. 10 Seton Hall on Saturday. DePaul is one of three league teams that Xavier has not yet played this season. Providence, which XU hosts on Saturday, and Butler are the other two teams.
DePaul, 13-9 overall and 1-8 in the BIG EAST Conference, is coming off a pair of close road losses, 64-57 at Seton Hall on Jan. 29 and 76-72 at Marquette on Feb. 1. The Blue Demons beat Butler 79-66 on Jan. 18 for their lone BIG EAST win and own non-conference wins over Texas Tech, Northwestern, at Iowa, at Minnesota and at Boston College.

• Xavier won the rebounding battle 51-22 in the win at No. 10 Seton Hall. Senior Tyrique Jones and junior Naji Marshall combined for 38 points and 28 rebounds. XU's rebound margin was the highest ever for XU in a BIG EAST game.
• Xavier's Tyrique Jones has been named BIG EAST Conference Player of the Week after averaging 16.0 points, 16.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.5 blocks and shooting 77.8 percent (14-18) from the field in games vs. Marquette and at Seton Hall this past week. He had 19 points and 18 rebounds in Saturday's win at Seton Hall. ESPN's Jay Bilas also named him as "The Bilastrator's National Player of the Week."
• Xavier's Tyrique Jones is second in the BIG EAST in overall rebounding (10.5 rpg.) but leads the league for BIG EAST play at 11.2 rpg. Jones is first in the BIG EAST and third in the nation in offensive rebounding (4.2 rpg.). He is second in the BIG EAST and fifth in the nation in double-doubles (13).
• Xavier's Naji Marshall is 38th on XU's all-time scoring list (1,107) and Tyrique Jones is 49th (1,062). Two others are shooting for 1,000, senior Quentin Goodin with 985 points and junior Jason Carter at 992, including 836 at Ohio.
• Xavier's Tyrique Jones, who has grabbed 751 career rebounds, is now 12th on Xavier's all-time rebounding list after his 19-point, 18-rebound game at Seton Hall.
