Men's Basketball Hosts Providence On Saturday For A Throwback Night Battle

Musketeers and Friars have both won two straight games.
CINCINNATI --- The Xavier University Musketeers, 15-8 overall and 4-6 in the BIG EAST Conference, host the Providence College Friars, 13-10 overall and 6-4 in the BIG EAST, on Saturday night at 8 p.m. at Cintas Center. Providence is one of two BIG EAST teams that Xavier has not played yet this season. The other team is Butler, which hosts XU next Wednesday.
Fans will see the throwback logos for both teams, including the Musketeer Running Man, and both teams will be wearing throwback uniforms for this game as part of the ongoing celebration of the 40-year anniversary of the BIG EAST Conference. Xavier will also be honoring its first-ever NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 team at halftime, the 1990 team that defeated Alonzo Mourning, Dikembe Mutombo and the Georgetown Hoyas in the NCAA Second Round to earn XU's spot in the Sweet 16.
